The good news of salvation begins with the bad news of sin. The Bible teaches that everyone is born with a sin nature (Romans 5:12). Because of our sinful nature we will inevitably engage in sinful behavior. In our depraved condition we are spiritually dead toward God (Ephesians 2:1). We are separated from fellowship with Him and are in need of a mediator, a go-between, who will reconcile us with God.
Are you willing to admit you are a sinner? Please understand, this involves more than merely admitting imperfections and mistakes. A sin is an offense against God. The first part of the good news is to admit the bad news: "I have offended God by my actions, inactions, and my very nature. God has a standard and I have missed it."
